Rock cut Silverado

Wanted to paint up a new body for my Scorpion trail truck, so I grabbed a Pro-line Stampede Silverado body and cut it up!
I cut the bed sides to go for the flat bed (Honcho) look! Next I cut the front fenders up to the hood line!
The paint came out completely different than what was supposed to be! I had a can of Tamiya Frost orange and was gonna use it and back it with silver. Well the first coat started messing up as the can started spitting instead of spraying, si I grabbed a can of Candy red to finish the next coat, and I'll be darned if 3/4 thru that coat if that can started spitting!

Both cans had been setting for a couple years, so they didn't want to spray nice and even, so I grabbed my new can of Neon orange for the 3rd and 4th coat! I painted the bed area outlaw black as well as the center hood area! I back all that with silver. It is a very different color, but actually looks pretty cool, or to me at least!
Heres a few pics!

I like the look of the cut fenders...

Yeah, me too. I took it out Sunday and it did really good only rubbing in tight, superflexed out situations! I can cut more of the front, but gonna wait because I'm installing Wraith axles this week, so the wider track will probally clear better before cutting more!

just found this - old thread, but wondering what you used to cut it up (if you're still around or if anyone knows)? Can you use the "thread" method on Lexan?

I don't think the thread method works on lexan, but I've never actually tried it. Easier to just use the body (curved) scissors to trim a body up like that.

I use curved Lexan scissors! I cut a little, take a look to make sure its what I want, then cut some more if needed! I cut not enough usually so I can cut more if needed! If you cut too much, you can't put back!
