Default 96 ford f250 crew cab build

so after seeing all of hoosierdaddys builds of crew cab ford and chevys and then an older 90s ford crew cab came up on here someone asking what it was truck it was built after i decided to try my hand at making a crew cab ford f250. found a couple tamiya xtreme blackfoot bodies and decided to go to work. but little did i know finding the rest of the parts to these old discontinued bodies is harder then i thought. so most everything will be hand build to go on the rig which makes it that much better imo. hope yall enjoy.

got the two bodies in the mail and started marking out for cuts

got the two bodies mated together and test fit on chassis

wheel base off but will fix that once i get the bodies done. not sure if were gonna stay dually or not what do you guys think?

started filling in the sunroof holes why did tamiya do this on all their rigs. lol. also got this side to curve down the roof line. the other side not so much i think the styrene was a little cold.

thats all for progress as of now. also anyone on here have a cnc machine that could possibly do the front grill. i cant find the right grill for it all the ones im finding are for the blackfoot IIIs which are the 80s style grills. let me know if anyone would be up for possibly making one. will get all the pics needed and have the other front cab piece i can send for fitment. pm me if you think youd be up for it.

Looks good, the closest grill to the 96 would be the one that comes on that body, the blackfoot extreme.

I have one i might be willing to part with, shoot me a pm if interested.

Thanks Kylar for the hookup on the front grill and bumpers. Helped out alot and saved some cursing and fingers from getting glued together. Lol.

Not much for updates on the truck. Got the roof fixed on the side that broke and put some reinforcement strips on back side of roof and layered with shoo goo for added strength. Gonna start on the filler work and sanding tomorrow if kids allow it. Lol. Stay tuned.

The crew cab is in the filler stage gonna let it dry overnight. Got a lil impacient and the filler wasn't set up all the way and couple good chunks rolled out. Gonna let it set over night sand it then throw a coat of primer on tomorrow see what it looks like. Will have pics tomorrow.

After a long day for work yesterday felt good to get to work on the crew cab last night. Got all the filler done (I think) and a couple coats of primer on looking killer so far. Also got my rear bumper in the mail and new wheels and tires for her. Waiting for the front grill to get here before I think about how I'm gonna mount it. Here's some updated pics from last night.

Getting few coats of primer.

Top all filled in

Looking mean from front

Looking up her skirt lol.

Still trying to figure out what to do for the tailgate. But getting closer.

Well got the crew cab all painted up and got the grill and roll bar. And I think looks pretty good for first time slice n splice. Lol. Decided to go with a blue and white two tone with rhino lined rocker panels. Decided the to match the shocks and painted the bead lock rings to match as well. Here's some final pics. Let me know what y'all think.

Sorry the last pic is blurry don't know what happened with the camera.

Thank you. Means a lot coming from you. I didn't realize how small these bodies really were tho till I got them and I think that's what makes it look so mean but I like it. Something I don't and probly won't see everyday. Except for mine lol. Still have some little stuff to do to it tho like figure how I can get the skid lower on the chassis I don't like how tipped forward my servo is need to get the front axle at least tipped back. But drivelines binds when I do it at this ride height.

Love the crew cab!
Wondering what your wheelbase is with the blackfoot crew?
Would like to run this body on the chassis I have for my f350 crew.

Searching for an extreme rear tailgate and rear bumper if anyone has a lead!
Thanks
Ryan

I don't think he's on here anymore after a small BST issue... Well not so much small but you get the point......

Here's mine and I should ditch the hood scoop and still might as I need to redo the paint anyway.

Whats your wheelbase on that body?

Do you happen to have any spare blackfoot extreme rear bumper and tailgate pieces?

Thx for the compliment. WB is 12 1/2 on the nose, and sorry no extra tailgates or anything. I posted a few other pics I a different thread that show the cage seperate, but it's designed to bolt right to an scx chassis. If I ever get back around to this build I'll add in more details for the rear doors and prob ditch the good scoop as well.
