| Spaz-stix and Pactra
Just got the 2 main colors (Pactra paint) done on my body but,the LHS doesn't have any Pactra black. He suggested the Spaz-Stix black backer.Said it SHOULD work.I'm just needing it for the undercoat.Anyone try this?Any issues? Please let me know. It's the last color and,I'd like to get this done. Thanks, Pat |

Not sure, seems like pactra is really picky. Whenever I used pactra it created bubbles. I guess its worth a shot though since pactra isn't made anymore.

I'd test it first on some scrap. In my painting experience as long as the pactra is used first and allowed a day to completely cure, not much seems to phase it. I've used spaz-stix chrome over pactra before and didn't have any issues. Not sure if it's "hotter" than their black or not though.

I found a scrap piece to test it on.If there's no problems in the morning,I can do the undercoat tomorrow at work. | |

You can back spaz stix with parma fascolor, if you have a airbrush. Yes the parent company to pactra discontinued that and floquil as well. Im not sure on what other brands were discontinued.

I had the owner of the LHS tell me that Testors bought out Floquil as well as a few other small specialty paint companies. Well, after responding to this I read the thread a few below this one and it provided an email that explained what had actually happened. I guess this is another reason not to listen to HobbyTown !
