| how does one "age" a lexan body??
Howdy, Im getting ready to paint a Dingo body and wanted to try to add character. I have never attempted this before, and have no clue where to start. I would like to add a few dents for starters and see where that takes me. Any ideas? Thanks, Troy |

Heat the body with a heat gun (be careful not to get it to hot) then use a small piece of wood to press in your dents.

There is a good article in this months issue of RC Car Action on "aged paint jobs".

I was also thinking of painting the body with a gun metal inside, and copper outside for a dull finish and a base to show scratches and so forth.

I think you might want silver inside, rust color primer outside, then a top coat of finish color.

I've also wondered about this as I'm about to paint a Lexan body to look older. Thanks for the tips! |

I got a good one, paint the inside a rusty or copper color. Put your actual paint on the outside, roll overs will scratch the corners of leaving for a good rusty looking body. Give it some dents also as somebody mentioned above. My dad did this and it looks really good! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk |
