Spraying down some stripes. Need advice please

I am getting ready to hopefully paint my Axial G6 body this weekend and wanted to do some mild simple stripes on hood and doors. I want the body to be blue and stripes to be red. I am using transparent blue and transparent red and plan on backing with a metallic silver. The question I have is do I paint the red stripes first or the blue body first. Kind of nervous going into my first paint job and wouldn't want of screw it up. Any advice would be nice. I have read through the painting guides and still a little unclear the subject. Thanks

I've always been told to start with darkest color first and work your way to lightest color ... Just my .02.

You can mask the stripes off and shoot the main color, then apply your back up paint. Peel the mask, shoot the stripes, then back those up. Keep the coats light and be sure to allow drying time between colors to prevent bleeding. The rules can be broken sometimes, if you're careful.

I agree, paint the darkest first, followed by backing, remove the masking for your next color, paint then back, i have found blues and reds back best with white or silver if you want bright colors and black to darken them a touch

Thanks again for your advice. Today is going to the warmest day in like a month or so. I will put some heaters in the garage and try laying down some paint. Did some masking last night for about 2 hours. What a pain, but I hope it pays off.
