Default Different way to wire up body lights w/pics

I finally finished my scx10 jeep build and decided to try something to eliminate needing to manually plug in the lights that are connected to the body. Really simple, nothing special, just thought I'd share. I made two contacts on the rear body posts, positive & negative, and put matching contacts on the body. This works perfect I can lift the truck up by the cage and the lights don't so much as flicker.

Thanks! I don't see why it wouldn't. Use good servo wire, it can handle several amps, and if anything use copper contacts instead but I really doubt it's necessary.

Very cool idea!!!

You may want to add a slight bend in the contacts on the frame just to maintain a positive connection. At some point you may get some flex or debris between the contact point and with a slight bend you ensure full contact all the time.

I did something very similar using the coil springs from a 4 cell AA battery holder and a couple brass washers on the body. Works well and stays on even when tumbling back down a hill.

That's a great idea? What material did you use to make those contacts? And did you use the dinky RC light bucket set or something else?

I just finished up wiring 2 bodies with LEDs and i am always forgetting they're connected whenever I take out the body to plug the battery, so I always end up pulling the wires out and stressing the plugs. This is a neat idea that solves that problem.

Thanks for sharing!
