Need help painting my trailfinder 2 hard body!

Hi guys, I decided to paint my truck in the tamiya camel yellow color

TowerHobbies.com | Tamiya Spray Lacquer TS-34 Camel Yellow 3 oz

I have questions on the primer - do I need it if the body is already molded in yellow?

and if so should I use grey or white primer?

Yes you should use it .white will brighten the top coat making your yellow more bright .grey would do the opposite and darken the hue a bit

Thanks for the input - for the camel yellow - do you suggest white or grey?

so i'd like to get it as close to this as possible.

Thanks for the pm as well - I may take you up on your offer as I'm also thinking about getting a gelande d90 which I really don't want to screw up. Lets see how this goes!

Any reason why rc4wd molded it in yellow?? I was really tempted to just leave it unpainted (stock yellow plastic) and do some touchout for the grill/interior etc. Seems weird to prime it white/grey and then color it yellow again...
