painting with non lexan paint

Im looking at painting the outside of my comanche but can I use tamiya ps on outside first then desired color of non lexan paint on top of it and will it hold up

If I know right, Tamiya PS is not Acrylic, so if you go over it with an acrylic, it may bubble or not stick well at all. Testing is always a good idea. Exactly what paint do you want to use over the Tamiya PS? And what material is the Commanche body?

I just painted my body with Krylon Fusion and it looks great. I just roughed the body up a little with some steel wool. I crashed it a couple of times and it scratched a little. It probably needed a little more prep or a primer. But the paint did grab and hold pretty well.

it works fine, i painted my Camaro crawler with the PS silver then with TS Blue, it works fine no bubbles

You can use non Lexan paint if you prep the surface to be painted with a flex additive like Bull Dog.

The comanche body is lexan and id like to paint it krylon fusion camo green over silver base and rust

That's what I did with my Cherokee and haven't had any problem with chipping. I didn't even rough up my body.... I painted the inside rust first then black and then painted the outside with my body color. This way you can't scratch away the rust

Just picked up some ultra fine steel wool to rough up the outside before paint now wait for the body for some reason it takes canada post 5 days to ship and deliver something 4.5hrs away
