| Types and Sizes of Styrene Needed, Help a NOOB
Guys, I've been collecting supplies to attempt a styrene body build of a Terradyne Armored Vehicle. Unfortunately, I've only been able to collect the tools like Xacto's, Self healing mats, and an Array of Styrene Glues. It appears that there are no Hobby Shops around me that carry Styrene. The supplies I've been able to order online because I specifically know what I'm looking for. The styrene I can order but I have no clues the thicknesses that I could possibly need...I figured I could judge it better in person, except no luck. Could someone here maybe help me out with a good list of thicknesses that I should order to start out with? I plan on picking up square and I and H beam as well just in case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the actual specs are available for download in PDF form...Cool http://www.terradyneinc.com/pdf/GURKHA_VEHICLES.pdf |

I use .30, .60, .80 styrene sheets as well as an assortment of shape rods and unique styrene pieces. A utility knife is very useful for cutting the thicker sheets as well as scoring them so you can bend the pieces easier. The best thing to do, is to study that picture and think of styrene shapes that you would need to make a certain part. |
