| I bought paint to match my Toyota
I got my new too me, Toyota body, and the previous owner cut huge holes in the back of the cab and bed, I used Shoo Goo and some sticky back dry wall mesh, and coated both sides with the Shoo Goo, and when it cures I going to paint the cab. the guy I bought the body from told me it was OD Green, I went Michael's Crafts and bought some Testers to try to see if matches no way, not dark enough, wrong shade, So I then went to Home Depot and found the Krylon Rust-Oleum Camouflage, Deep Forest Green its a dead on match, yeah baby, I hope it stiffens up some more when its fully cured, Then I paint it, So wont be able to see the patch job, I got a RC Brothers Truck bed box to cover the repair of the bed, the bed covers up the back of the cab, I should look good for doing it cheap, I could of bought two fiberglass repair kits, and done it that way, I have never used fiberglass, not sure how it would of came out. Its not exactly perfect but good enough for me and there is more huge holes in the bed or cab it would of bugged me with the holes.

I got the cab painted and dried, I mounted my truck bed box, and mounted the bed to the cab, the box looks good and you don't see my patch job its covered, it came out the way I wanted it too.

Here is some body work I did with a torch and some sharp objects, it was painted red or rust colored underneath the Deep Forest Green by the previous owner, Going to buy some different color paints and try the rusted and weathered look.

I think I got the colors I need, I bought flat Deep Forest Green which is the body color and some flat brown, flat red, flat black. I could brush a little of each color until I get the look I want, or I could take the flat red mix it with Flat yellow and a little bit of black and make some rust colored paint and I put some cinnamon, cayenne, chili powder, black pepper and any seasoning that looks like rust would work. I went thru my seasonings and found quite a few of looked like rust and I going to shoot flat clear to seal in the paint work. the second picture of the spices is with the flash off its a lot darker and rustier looking.

That's probably some sort of primer under the rustoleum green. Nice effect though.

I stripped the paint and primer off with some old 20% Nitro that I had but never used, it was open at least once and was not very strong smelling, so that tells me it been sitting a while, so with scotch pad and some elbow work the paint and primer came off pretty easy, now the plastic has a weird finish to it now, looks its been sand blasted or something, I painted the hood and the racing stripe down the side and the grills in the hood Cowl and the door handles and the area a round them, every thing was painted flat black and needs to be dulled so it looks aged and I flat clear when done detailing. I'm really liking the dent and dinge's now, it give some depth, still think about adding some rust or a dirty wash to make look used and beat and call it good.

I painted the fender flares, they need cleaned up a little, I also painted the trim ring around the windshield and back window to match the rear slider and painted the top half of both doors looks good to me, I like it, the hardest part was taping everything off the tape doesn't stick to good, its the little details, that make it stick out a lot.

The previous owner put a hole in the side of the bed, me beaning me, I just couldn't have a hole, so I took a piece of clear lexan the only scrap, I have and ruffed it up with a scotch pad on both sides and cut it square. And glued it in and painrted black on the back side to give depth, and bought some testers rust colored paint. I think it looks pretty damn good for my first rust job. And I'm going to add some rust and repaint the fender flares and around the windshield and back window and the side windows, then maybe make a dirty rusty wash once I'm done detailing it.

They don't give very many, small stickers for back windows on the sticker sheets from my SCX10, Wraith, EXO, and a bunch of stickers when you buy parts or accessories. But your kinda limited cause its not Axial or RC4WD, so I used what I had and cut some of them to fit, I like how it came out, looks good. I changed out the black 4 X 4 with a white 4 X 4 sticker and put it so the pit bull head goes in the middle, looks even better now. and when I'm done detailing the paint I'm shooting flat over the body so the stickers should last longer.

To me it looks beat, like a salvaged title vehicle, Like you can buy at Pick and Pull, years ago I bought Salvaged Title a 80's Toyota corolla with a fresh primer-ed painted body with a two barrel Webber and headers and used it to commute with until I sold it later on, I see trucks like it too, Up in Lake Tahoe, they sit all year collecting dust, but when the snow is 4 or 10 feet deep over night, you see the beat and rusted Toyota's and Subaru's every where, and you see a few crawlers in the summer none in the winter, just people continuing to live there lives and driving there old Faithfull's which get beat and rusty and parked again.

I bought the Hilux 4x4 metal emblems, but the front fenders are too dented and bent, I would have to bend the emblem to match the fender contours, and that seems like a waste too me, I also bought a pair of 1.9'' G-Made plastic bead locks to mount my spare on and they look like the stock steel rims, that's the look I wanted going to weather and rust out the rim a little, so it looks like the original spare.

I got my Vinyl stickers today, the Metallica one is bad ass, it's going to look damn good, on the truck box lid, and I got a yellow and black Toyota truck sticker. needs a little trimming but it will fit or I can cut out the big T and the yellow oval in the middle or just the Toyota Truck letters and make a stencil. I don't think vinyl is thick enough for a stencil might need a stiffer backing.

I found some of this Testers #1260 DullCote, that is a Enamel flat clear, the rust colored paint is enamel and so is the black on the hood and fender flares and around the windows and the racing stripe, so the Testers should work a lot better, then the Acrylic flat clear that is water based.

I'm liking the green Metallica sticker on my Dell laptop, I bought two, they only had one black and one green, so grab them both, the black one is for the truck box lid, there is some pics with the flash and some with out the flash.

I need some glue and not sure, if CA Glue is the right stuff, I got my Emblems, one for the grill and the ones for the fenders from RC4WD and there a lot nicer than other ones I bought, I dented my fenders the emblems need to be bent so they match the contours of the fender, but it might be easier to cut off the Hilux part and make it look it broke off, cause the real emblem will break and fall off, and not bend to match the fenders. I like the rubber mirrors, and remembered I had these Axial Mirror stickers, it took me a while but I did find them and they need to be trimmed to fit and they will look good.
