Default Open top Defender 90 body build

So I have cut the top off and it's resting in place. I will cover how it stays in place and the trim that it take to get the scale finish so that it looks like the real D-90.

The razor saw is a must to get the clean strait cuts with no loss of marerial of the body.

The Channel is what is needed to give it the look like it was ment to be this way. I have more to do of course but it's a start. The cutting the roof off and adding these parts took only a 1/2 hour to do, this is the easy part.

I should point out that the reason I cut the top off is because of the weight that it has. I also cut everything that I build and so this is just another one.
I'm hoping that when I build the frame and running gear that it is a scale be well handling/climbing machine.
I my make it a 1/2 cab just to keep it different also.

So how do you like the new dash board?

The center is cut from a 1/10 scale Jeep dash and then shaped the piece to fit this dash. No more sticker for a radio!

I cut out the read pan. I will be making one that is more scale to the Defender 90. I will leave the rear seat out I think also.

It's hard to see, but the front fenders have diamond plate on them.

The rear pan is started. It is much deeper than the stock set up. I need to order the pickup cab conversion or just leave it open. I will and the back of the cab in place so that the wheel tubs can be made and installed.
I added some pieces that will help keep the pan strait on the out side edges and also to make it stiffer and stronger.

Most you will not like this but I want to do this build with Worminator axles.
That and the T1 Disruptor Black Transfer Case (.75:1 gearing) with asimple motor mount is all the drivetrain I want to use. Simple light and different.

I put some pieces in the bed to get a platform to glue the diamond pieces in of what you see here.
