There's a few fiberglass bodies and makers floating around on here, with a bit of searching you'll find them. On the other note it's only been 5 hrs since you posted... Not every member sits on here 24/7, give it some time and I'm sure you'll get responses from the guys that have worked with glass, most body guys on here myself included work in styrene not glass so we prob can't offer the help you'll need.

It would also help if you posted the issues you need help with more people may be inclined to help if they know what the issue is.

ok i'll make it simple so others can understand.... has anyone ever glassed a lexan body

don't know why you would glass any other kind of body unless you were making a front bumper or body kit for a hard body
a little chicken wire and patience will fix that

sorry for not updating but I found a useful how to

Sickcivic95 gave you a good answer, with a little advice, and it sounded to me like you answered him with some attitude! Not the best way to get your questions answered on here!!!
Why would you want to ad that weight to a lexan body?

There's no need for the attitude is what he's trying to say.... he is 100% correct, you will have a much faster and welcoming response to questions with a little patience and a smile

But.... As to your original question
"anyone ever glassed a body? I need a little assistance?"

In what ways do you need assistance?

Are you just needing or wanting an opinion if its a good idea or will work?
Needing help on mixture or bonding?

Or ?????

Possibly I or another member could help with a bit more detail of what exactly you are needing assistance with.

getting the right brand... but as someone pointed out to me I can use any generic brand.. I also know that some bodies are thicker than others and can only handle a certain amount of heat (which makes the bond) so generic is not what im lookin for.. that's why I asked first if anyone has ever done it

I have built a fiberglass body off a lexan body, it worked fine but I rushed the prep work so I destroyed the original. Mix glass resin with bondo to make a gel coat. Use a thin coat then lay up the glass in thin layers. Next time I may try pantyhose as the mat, I have seen it done on airplanes to save weight. Lots of turtle wax and thin coats and you may be able to save the pedant mould

i see now you are the one who ruined my thread.... so you ruined my thread bc someone knew what I was talkin about and did not want to assist me(I know that bc they said there are a few floating around here)

why should I be polite about that?

I know that's why you did it bc like I told you.. time and dates mean everything on a good thread..

if just asking for help with whatever fiberglass issue you have questions about frustrates you, my best advice is to stop thinking of working with fiberglass all-together.

ive seen people use bedliner on lexan bodies. maybe thats more your speed.

I come hear once in a blue moon, I do fiberglass all the time, it is totaly doable. Interesting the bondo and resin combined to make gel coat. I use epoxy milled FG and pigment to make gel coat a 1 oz. fg will work good. or you can go the full fg and use a 5 oz cloth.

I don't mind helping people, but you kind of sound like a spoiled kid that can talk to anybody the way you want and they will give you what you want. I don't see any apology or where anybody ruined your thread. I could tell you that resin will work fine by itself, and let you figure out that without the cloth it will shatter the first time it rolls, but I'm not a dick like that.
