Default Need a Source for custom printed RC decals (clear backing)

I have been working on designing an Ivan "Ironman" Stewart paint scheme for my Wraith. Using Adobe Illustrator, I came up with this design using vectorized graphics.

(Using the design on the bottom with larger TOYOTA.)

I will be painting the inside of the panels, but want to apply custom printed decals on the outside.

Does anyone know of a good online or local source for custom printed RC decals? I need someone that won't require me buy 50, 250 or 500 decals.

I have contacted some who are only able to do die-cut vinyl (but not clear). The solid color decals might work in vinyl, but the multi color won't.

Any help appreciated.

I have thought about doing an internal wrap, but I would prefer to paint and use decals. All of the decals along the rocker will be on one strip to maintain correct spacing. The same for the decals located diagonally in front of the wheel opening.

You can produce water-slide decals with a clear background on an inkjet printer. 5.5 x 8.5 is the size of the sheet, print your decal in parts if you need it bigger. There is a spray can you use after they are printed to bond it.

I use GIMP to lay out decals for my 1/24 scale stuff, print it on the decal paper, spray with the bonding agent, slide onto the model and then clear coat if desired. I actually found the kit while at Hobby Lobby with the wife and used the smartphone app to get 40% off, think I ended up paying like $4.50 for it.

Hi,

I did some research on this too - didn't like the Testor's way at all since you have to prep with bonding agent and since you work with Illustrator there is no need for software!
Pricey too! I got me this waterside decal paper to give it a try and it works great: search for item number 110908378050 in the "bay"... They have packages with 5 white AND 5 clear letter size ones for under 10$ - I used a cheap Canon ink jet printer and the result is amazing. I used some real size bumperstickers and downsized them to some 9mm and you they are still sharp and bright. You do need to clear coat these though. The main "problem" to use them efficiently is you need A LOT OF STICKERS to fill a letter size sheet

Get a hold of Michelle over at Krawler Konceptz. She does great work. Here's what she did for me. She took my ideas and made them so much better. She makes internal skins but they won't rub off as you abuse your rig.

Cheers eh,

Todd

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking to do paint and maybe some decals. So, I'm looking for someone that can create the decals and/or masks to paint the logos.

I don't have an inkjet printer. Plus I'm looking for something that will be water resistant on its own without clear coating.

So the last picture I posted was the design as Michelle made it. I let her know what I wanted and she turned it into art and printed the skins on plastic for me. We went back and forth through email until we had what I wanted.

Here's how they look on my crawler.

The pictures don't do them justice, they look better in person.
