Default Glueing lexan to lexan?

Cutting and making my first body. Using a proline jeep and going to make it a brute my plan is to cut everything like I want it then to extend the body use scrap lexan on the inside as a backer, then fill the void on the outside with more lexan. My question is what glue would be the best for this? Shoe too? PVC cement? CA glue? There will be spots on the top and sides of cab that will be but jointed is there a way to get the lexan to weld together in these areas using some sort of epoxy or something? Or a body filler that can be used to completely fill the gaps?
Thanks
Nathan

If you really want to bond it, use a Methylene Chloride based glue.
such as Weld-On #16.

Weld-On #16 1.5 oz. Tube Plexiglass Glue Adhesive

You have to use it with extreme care and small amounts or you will end up melting the thin Lexan that bodies are made of.
I usually just use Shoe Goo since it is a lot less likely to destroy the body. But it isn't a very strong bond and can be removed if needed.

Yep like said above, in saying that lexan sucks as a media to work with. Short of just sticking it together it typically looks like crap on high body mods. Not sure if you plan to paint it inside or out but inside will be the worst bet. Also any type of filler short of anything flexable will surely crack and fall out. Good luck.

Painting will be done on the outside of the body. Need a backer for the sides and roof.

Shoe goo or Goop, I like Goop better I find shoe goo to be thinner and more stretchy. Get the mesh drywall tape. Lay some glue down, put the mesh tape down then put more glue over the top. I've found with the fiber reinforced tape the body is actually more stout in the taped areas then the bare lexan areas. Really a bomb proof fix. I've never had it fail ever and it stays flexible as well. If you double layer the lexan the glue trapped between the layers may not dry or fully bond for several days. It would likely be more brittle as well. I've chopped bodies apart and once even bought two bodies and made one really long one this way.

I'd cut filler pieces then tape them edge to edge on the body with masking tape fill the back side with drywall tape and Goop.
