Default Backing in Black after Tamiya Camel Yellow?

Hey guys, I am going to paint my next Axial Jeep and I have chosen the Tamiya Camel Yellow color. Anticipating that I would also back it with a secondary color, I also purchased the Tamiya Black spray paint. Will backing this relatively bright color in black have an impact on its brightness or the overall finish (i.e. will it be darker or "less yellow")? I attached a picture of what I am hoping to achieve...

Preferably, I would rather not go back and purchase another color to back the yellow with but if black does have a significant impact on the color I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks for the help!

It will make the yellow darken and possibly bleed through the yellow. You can back it with Tamiya PS12 Silver before the black or just leave it silver.

the Tamiya Camel Yellow is very near the color you're trying to achieve, if not darker. I would back that body with a lighter color and then with black. in general, backing with a lighter color brightens up your main color and backing with a darker color will darken it.

I always like to finish my bodies with a black though so the body isn't as visible through the wheel wells.

I'd say your best bet is to use a white backer. Black will likely muddy the yellow. If you have a spare/scrap piece of lexan around, spray some yellow and back it with black and see if you like the result. That way you'll know which way to go.

Thanks! I decided to just purchase the Tamiya White and then back that in Black.
