If your not against painting the outside, you can put a coat of any polycarb/lexan paint down, and paint just about anything overtop that. I've done a few bodies like that, and it holds up just fine. Plus it just starts to look more scale as it gets scraped and scratched, just paint the inside silver then, so it looks like bare metal where it scrapes through.

This is how I do all of my scale bodies. 1:1's get scratched on the trail and on the rocks, why shouldn't 1:10's?

I used krylon ultra flat camo tan on my comanche body after scuffing the body with 000 steel wool and laying down random silver and rust base coat and it has held up great plus when rubbed hard against the rocks either steel or rust start to show thru
