Sky Blue SCX10 Topkick

This was my first attempt at a 'custom' build. Still working on it bit by bit. Had to ditch my lighting, but i'll be going with a Rigid light bar here soon. I used parts of the cage from my Falken G6 Jeep body to construct the bars in the bed. Heated the stock rock sliders to better form them to the body.

Went to a smaller tire and lowered the body about 4 notches. Handles way better and I ordered some new shocks from RPP

Good job on your first scaler body! Wait til you start messing with the hard stuff lol. I mean ABS plastic...btw next time you do a lexan body or any body always sand the wheel wells/fender arches the best you can. Typically I use 400 grit. Keeps things smooth looking and less likely that a rough edge will catch on your tire when you're in a jam on the rocks!

Wow those edges are pretty well trimmed and sanded. Another tip I'd suggest when you want to step it up with 2-3 colors like bed matte black or even actual bedliner spray (only adheres to hard bodies though) make sure to use liquid mask or if you don't want to spend that kinda cash buy a roll of 3M blue painters tape...Tamiya masking tape works by far the best and you can even make pin stripes with it!

To save on using 3M tape on a huge section of the body what I do is use the tape and secure it as tight to the body as possible even going over it a couple of times with a heat gun on low. Then instead of using more tape I just use regular 8.5 x 11 copy paper as a paint shield.

Always use quality masking tape otherwise many leave a nasty adhesive residue when you peel it off to spray the final color.
