Default Help with a redo

I painted this theme for my wraith a while back using faskolor. I was wondering if anybody knew how I would go about replicating the water droplet looking design in red on the hood. When I airbrushed it I think the paint was just thin enough to form little drops instead of a solid layer. It was a total fluke and I didn't use anything like the spray bottle technique. Thanks for any tips, I'd really like to do it again.
