Default How to attach bumpers on pro line jeep wrangler body

Hey guys total newb here. I just bought a new clear pro line jeep wrangler body for my scx10 project. First off, it comes with molded front and rear bumpers, while not ideal for crawling, I'd like to use them so it looks more like my wife's real jeep as this is going to be her RC. I've never worked with lexan before so what is the best way to attach those to the rest of the body?

2nd, the body is going to be black, but I'd like the hard top to be a flat black or at least a little different black to distinguish between body and hard top. I've been searching and found that flat black on the inside won't show up flat. But will it look any different than th gloss black I'm painting the rest of the body? Has any one done this and have pictures of what it looks like? Any other ideas to help me out? Thanks guys!

In most cases the bumper is attached to your frames.
As for the paint, you can use the black on the inside and get a clear satin and spray it on the outside of your body where you want it to be flat.
Photos would help on your bumper question.

Yeah I can't post pictures. Don't have photo bucket and can't on the site because I'm a cheap f@ck. I should have been more descriptive on the bumpers. They came with the pro line body, they too are clear lexan. Not a rugged crawler bumper at all, they are molded like a stock 1:1 jeep. Since it came with the body, I don't have real off road bumpers that mount to the frame and they look like he real thing I wanted to try and use them. Thanks for the tip on the satin paint.

Ok, not seeing them, my best guess for mounting the bumpers would be 3mm screws and shoe goo. Hope that helps.

When i did my kids proline jeep i just used 3mm button head screws in the rear same in the front but from the topside of the bumper and a piece of servo tape between both bumpers and the body

Did you end up keeping the stock lexan bumpers or replacing them with chassis mounted solid bumpers? I'm doing the same build now and don't think the lexan bumpers will hold up too well when crawling.

I just put the same body on my Vaterra Ascender. Made an L bracket out of sheet aluminum and bolted it to the back of the chassis. Front is a regular ascender bumper.
It rarely drags and when it does it doesn't hang up and has plenty of give. Seems to work out fine.

Sorry you can't see the fab up here but can take some more on request.

Thanks. I cut out and painted my body last night. I decided not to use the factory bumpers and use my steel bumpers instead as to protect the body better during rock crawling.
