Default removing soft paint?

i have 2 coats of paint on my gelande d90 body that have gone and screwed me! i sprayed a base coat of white then color coat of tamiya coral green. problem is after 2 days the paint is still pliable and the plastic body is softening and getting worse. has anyone encountered this and or ideas to fix it or scrap it and start again with a new one? its to the point now that tonight when handling the body my fingerprints are into the body and permanantly on the hood..

ive used tamiya paints for years with nothing like this ever happening, and its even brand new paint. its actually a new color too, so it cant have sat around too long

i would guess the paint is melting the body. You could try to gently rinse it off with water but the body is probably not going to fair to well.

This was ts paint, I've used both enamel and polycarbonate specific paints on mojave bodies in the past many times.. Why the softening now...?

It may just be from a bad batch from the factory.

I was reading on scale builders guild last week and a member had some issues with Tamiya paint. I would contact them and suggested that they work with you on replacing your body. Also bring it to the attention of the store you got the paint from. Hopefully someone will stand tall. IMHO. You never know.

I gave in and ordered a replacement body set. If I can get this straightened out, it's going to get a camper conversion
