Default Trail Finder / Hilux bodies?

Has anyone had any luck fitting these injection molded, harder plastic bodies to non-scale crawlers? Particularly an AX10 Deadbolt? I'm trying to give my rig a more scale look, and would like the added durability of the harder plastic. Not sure I wanna spend that much cash to experiment with fit though.

Yes, it's been done, they usually are best with 1.9 wheels or smaller otherwise the body has to be run up high or cut the heck out of the wheelwells which does not looks scale. BTW, hardbodies (styrene) are actually much less durable, but look great when done right. I love the RC4WD TF and TF2 bodies look!

Thanks Natedog - It seems like the biggest issue i'm going to have is wheelbase if I use the toyota body. I'm not opposed to some cutting and fitting though. I think I may search out some alternatives before I spend the $100 plus though!

You're welcome! You can section out the bed behind the rear wheels and add it back in front of the wheels to stretch the wheelbase.
