Default Full body paint removal

I have a good body i got used with a "ok" paint job. Is there a good easy way to strip the whole body to repaint it. It's a proline XJ body

It's been a long time since i did my last body but the Dot 3 works well if you have all day to strip a $30 body. I put some Dot 3 in an old baking sheet (Enough to sop up with a toothbrush). I then hit the body with a hairdryer on low heat for a few seconds, dipped the brush in the Dot 3 and scrubbed a little. Comes of instantly. I was able to do a whole body in less than 30min. Anything beyond that is not worth my time but YMMV.

I've read that using DOT 4 brake fluid works better then using DOT 3.

Yeah seem to remember hearing something about dot 4 being better but it was a long time ago and I'm on a bunch of oxy at the moment from having surgery so who knows lol. Thanks for the tip about the hair dryer cmb will have to give it a shot. Think I still have a brand new bottle dot 3 sitting in the garage from doing my brakes on my 1:1 not to long ago will see if I can find it.

I've done this before, works well. A pointer from me would be to use a paint brush to rub the old paint off.

I haven't gotten around to doing this yet as I did something to aggravate my surgery recovery and have been taking it easy the last few days but my new kit to build is supposed to be here today so I will hopefully get to it. Another idea I have been toying with (keep in mind I'm currently on some pretty potent pain killers atm so this may just be crazy talk) is instead of stripping the red paint from the shell just leaving it and pulling all the decals off the outside then laying down a coat of silver then maybe some rust/brown in a few spots then doing like a olive drab flat green over it over all on the outside. Thinking it would be kind of neat to get it scratched up and show layers and some rust in the scratches.

Or maybe like i said just stripping the current paint and try to find a blue to match my 97 1:1 Cherokee.

Outside paint works great, the look is more realistic than the super glossy shiny inside paint on lexan, is pretty durable and much less work. I've heard that brake fluid makes the lexan more brittle and prone to cracking which is not good. I've done the outside paint and love it, check my Honcho SCX10 thread if you want to see how it turned out.
