Default Stampede Body on AX10?

Anybody tried this? I know it won't be wide enough, more looking at the wheelbase of the ProLine Raptor option bs an AX10. Any help would be appreciated before I go blow my money on a body!

It will look like an old comp truck.

you might need to cut the wheel wells bigger to get it to look right.

Didn't even think about the wheel wells, but I bet you're right.

Considering the width difference I'm not sure how it would look the more I consider it. The wheels stick out a little past the axles, prolly a better fit for the scx and tf2. If someone has a body they could toss on and take pics, I'd still be interested in seeing it.

X2

I don't have a pic handy, but the Stampede size body is narrow and about same wheelbase as old AX10. Look back in the old AX10 threads and picture archive for old 2.2 shafty with Axial Betty body etc.

if you want the body to fit like a 1:1 truck you will probably need to look at something else

The 1:1 concept isn't a huge concern here, I'm not a huge scale die hard, but I completely agree from a concept standpoint. This wouldn't look "scale" at all. I was shooting for the 1:1 mud truck look if anything, and in that class(in 1:1, not RC TTC) there's no telling what you'll see, so rules are made to be broken!

Parma makes a Nissan Titan, that was an easy choice!

I think it all depends on the style you're trying to pull off. The right "stampede" sized body could work out fine for you. If anything just make links for the wheelbase you need and play around with wheels/tires and shock length until you're happy with the look

This is a Pro-Line stampede sized early 50's chevy I'm currently building. Wraith axles and wheelbase with big 2.2's and it barely fits into the SORRCA rulebook. This is way bigger than anything AX-10 sized.

cool set up drew, he said he wouldnt be competing so fitting into rules isnt needs. If he is running a stock ax10 chassis he also wouldnt need to fit into the scale rules

Definitely not competing with this rig. Once I get he body on, I'll post a pic. I don't even think there are any comps anywhere near here. :(

You can still have tons of fun without comps. Only mentioned it to reference dimensions.

Not that it really matters but I'm changing that rig to a 12.3" wheelbase with scx10 axles, I like the look a whole lot better. This should be similar sized to what you have on your mind. The wheelbase is a bit long but the truggy chassis makes up for it.

Agreed on not needing comps to have fun. I spent three hours in the woods last weekend....all by myself...just trying to break my crawler. Seems like this hobby is custom made for my hunting and fishing off seasons(now).

I get the body tonight and will lose my mind if the wheelbase isn't right. I could extend it but that would require new center shafts and new lower links and that will require more waiting....please no!!!

the wheelbase will more than likely be longer. I thought that wasnt an issue?

It is and isn't...I'd like it to at least look somewhat like a Titan, but beggars can't be choosy. Currently working on it, slowly but surely gonna make this work!!! Wheelbase actually lines up pretty good for now.

The wheelbase is actually dead on, it's the damn mounting height that drives me nuts, that's why I was thinking of a stampede body as I could have the body sitting lower, but that's not gonna happen given the super small wheelbase of the pede

It is hard to get a body to sit low on a stock AX chassis..... time to upgrade!

It's a hot racing rock racer chassis...got sick of the look so I decided to put a body over the top. I have a feeling I just need to buy an scx10 and be done with it.
