your thinking of the Stephan/ Scale Offroad German XJ bodies and accessories. yes long since discontinued. but those were in a whole nother category of detail and cost.
they were also smaller. closer to 1/10 scale.

these are 1/8 scale (1/8.24 to be exact)

Very nice. Do you know if that painted body had the seam behind the first door that looked to go all the way around the body? I saw some Instagram pictures that show a distinct separation line there. Can't really tell if it was filled in in that picture or not.

Not sure; those are all the pictures that I got. the side on picture does look to still have the line on the roof at that point.
