Default Best method for window decals?

How in the world do y'all put on clear window decals without them looking all hazy and like complete shat? I tried putting the window decals on my new scx10 II, but they looked horrible. I really wanted the black outlines they provided but couldn't stand how the area that was supposed to be clear, was all hazy looking. I've seen other builds where they look good, so I know it can be done.

Use a light spay of Windex. Will be slightly movable and can squeegee excess out with damp paper towel. Let set overnight and burnish the edges with a damp towel again

Hi
I apply them as you did and then take an Xacto knife and run it along the inside of the black trim and remove the clear decal part, leaving only the black trim piece on the truck.

X2. Get some fine line masking tape like Tamiya or 3M. Tape the areas off and paint. Practice on a scrap piece of lexan or an old body first. Once you get this method down you'll never go back to decals.
