I went with just the cab and a Honcho bed on my SCX, Project Ugly Duckling (link in sig). Laid down a simple black paint. Really happy with how it turned out. The pinched front works with the off road bed I think.

I used all Tamiya PS colors. PS-2 Red, PS-5 Black, PS-32 Corsa Grey and PS-4 Blue. PS-14 Copper is the first coat then all other coats were over top.

The rust was a kit I bought from Michaels craft store. It's a metallic paint and oxidizer you spray only to actually rust it.

Ok. All you folks have talked e into it. I bought this body. Now i gotta decide bed or Truggy. If I do a truggy, I'll make a trailer from the bed. Or make the bed so it can be placed around the truggy frame for a full truck ride. My last Toyota truggy is a hard body and I still love it. But the SCX10 ii is just screaming for this kickass Toyota body.
And after seeing the Jeepiac rig I knew I had to have one..

Got my body today. I'll echo the complaints about it and add that the complete lack of detail in the grill is dissapointing. Even the PL cherokee has more detail in the grill area. The hilux is just flat.

yup! Mine has some waviness by the passenger window. I'm thinking of just cutting the windows out.

It may not be a perfect shell when compared to other Hilux bodies available but i still like it and im glad i bought it for my ascender.

Wow, lotta pruning going on in this thread. Gonna need new blades on those clippers soon.

This is what mine looked like before I tore it all up for a 6x6 project. I am going in for surgery today and while I recover, I will be working on joining two beds to make a body for it.
