Default tamiya matte clear

In this months RC Car Action they had an article on a clear matte finish using Tamiya clear on the outside and regular paint on the inside. has anyone tried this in the past and how does it come out? I would like to have a nice matte green finish on one of my RC's but wanted to see if anyones tried this or had another way to do it.

Use the Tamiya PS clear on the outside, once it dries thoroughly you can use less expensive enamel paints over the top without worrying that they'll peel off. Using regular paint on the inside, it's still going to peel and flake, however, if your first coat on the inside is with a PS clear paint, then you can use regular paint.
