Default Fiberglass help

I'm looking to build a fiberglass body for a tuber I'm building. I was wondering if anyone on here had built a fiberglass body before, because I want to make sure I do it right. Do you just drape the cloth over the frame and apply the resin or is it more complicated?

Quick version:
  • Make a foam form of what you want the body to look like.
  • Make sure it is asymectircal
  • Cover the entire thing with a mold release. Masking tape works well.
  • lay your fiberglass over it, and cut the rough shape let it hang over some.
  • lay the fiberglass pieces on a piece of card board
  • pour resin over them one at a time
  • use a bondo spreader to work the resin into the glass
  • once the glass is soaked in resin lay it onto the mold.
  • work out all the air, using more resin if necessary.
  • add more layers of glass while it is still wet.
  • wait for it to dry
  • cut the raw edges that are hanging off the mold
  • remove the foam.
  • Smooth with bondo.
  • Paint

For RC, I'd probably use 2 layers of glass.

I only have about 100 hours in this hood ;)
