Default Best Material for a Wrap

I ruined my Proline Raptor Body painting it when it was too cold...

So I have decided to wrap it. I do not need anything flashy, just a solid color.

Would the regular automotive wrap from 3M be the best choice? Or is their something that would be better for this purpose.

The body is currently Silver, and I would be looking for a silver, black, or red solid wrap.

Thanks,

DOT 3 brake fluid will remove

I prefer acetone with a 20% water mix. Stripping is done all the time on styrene , lexan is tougher to screw up

You have to do the entire shell

If you have any scraps from trimming use them for testing

For wrap material, this is a good source - some 3M and some house brand, a massive variety available:

TopVinylFilms.com

Also, I bought some 3M wrap that is laser cut for use as a phone skin from another company - they sent more pieces than are needed to wrap the entire phone, screen and all!

Since it is an absolutely perfect pattern (it's a secret for now) for rock-crawlers/racers, I plan on using at least some of it on my RR10 build.

You could always paint over it on the outside.

This is the original build thread, I never updated the changes.

JJRCBuilder, When I used to build RC planes we used a thin film called Mono-kote, it comes in tons of colors. It was a shrink type film. The thing is as you may find out with the automotive stuff, you have to have a good base. You may be able to see the defects under it if you don't do SOME bodywork. Using brake fluid to strip it may be a better choice it's not that bad to do. Try a small inconspicuous spot on th body to test if you don't have any scraps. Just make sure to clean off brake fluid before re-pai ting. Also be carefull what paints you use, some are not compatible with others. Laquers and oil bases can do funky things sometimes. Good luck.
