The Tamiya is chromed plastic, difficult to replicate exactly with just paint. That being said, there are chrome-like paints out there:

recommended backing paint is this:

and if you are applying on the exterior, topcoat with this:

There are others available... just search!

You get what you pay for.

My .02¢ ... just buy the real body, you'll spend more in half arsed paint then just buying the original chrome body and still end up with something not even close that you aren't happy with

Paints do add up quick... I have got self-etching primer, 2 colors of lacquer, and matte clearcoat - all to paint aluminum panels that most people just run as is with stickers added. Over $50 in paint, right there.

All the ones I posted from RPP add up to about $20 plus shipping, but because they're aerosol paint they ship Ground only. Slowww......

The actual metallic King Hauler body is discontinued and hard to find. One place was selling them for as little as $38 before they ran out, though.

I have been looking and have yet to locate one, I would love to not have to try and replicate it.
