Default Best way to make body fenders?

I had to cut the fenders off my jeep comanche body for the tires to fit. I feel like it helps with the scale look when you don't see millimeter thin plastic above the wheels.
So far my idea is to use some air hose cut lengthwise. I'm currently experimenting with attaching them and making them black... so far I've injected black silicone into them and attached them but I'm doubtful ithe will stay on after a good bump. I'm wondering if anyone has other ideas and methods to make fenders.

(This is just a test fit, no adhesive)

I like the idea! I would suggest maybe looking for black tubing instead of the clear. That way you wouldn't have to worry about coloring it or making sure the color comes out even. Pump it full of E6000 and I doubt it would move.

Yeah black tubing would be good if I could find it. I am thinking of leaving the silicone and gluing the back part of it to the inside of the body. I'll see how it looks tonight.

If you have a Home Depot or Lowe's nearby check out their irrigation section. That's where I sourced black tubing for a hydro project I had going. What they had was a little stiffer than rubber but still flexible enough that it would work.

Well the silicone seems to hold alright. I'm not gonna pry at it but if/when it comes loose I will glue it. So whatever tube you use the way to go is test fit it first, masking tape the body directly around the tube to reduce mess on the body, then take the tube and inject some adhesive and put it back on. To inject the silicone I wrapped the precut hose in tape so it wouldn't come out the cut. It's messy.
