Default Lexan dove tailing?

Can you dove tail/pinch a lexan body? If so could you list things needed and maybe some pics if you have done this before?

Thanks Jake

I haven't dove tailed but I did bob my vaterra blazer and turn it into a pickup truck at the same time. Here's a link to my build. Starting at post 184 I cut my body up.

My baby blazer

I can post more detailed pictures if you want. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to work with the lexan and it's holding up great. Been using the truck and had some hard hits off the rocks and it's still holding up with no cracks or signs of fatigue.

if you youtube "lexan body repair" it will give you walk through tutorials on how to repair and attach lexan bodies using shoe goo and mesh. Pretty thorough videos on it.

You can try doing a search for "Pinching a Lexan Body", there's a few pics, but since Photobucket pulled their crap, a lot of pics are gone. I did the search and there were 22 threads, most of them gave tips on how to glue the body parts once cut, but only a few had pics.

It does depend somewhat on the body style your using & how it's molded but I did it on a Pro-Line Chevy pick-up for a comp body (I mention comp body as I wasn't chasing a 100% scale, full points effort)

I cut vertically up the tail gate inside the tail light line, then diagonally up the tray deck (would be much more difficult on a drop tray) I then overlapped the pieces & fixed with M2 screws & CA glue.

Edit: took a couple of pics from the underside & found a pic of it only marked out on the clear lexan

I designed a rear cage to hold my dovetail. The Trophy Rat body doesnt have a normal bed, its a 50 gallon drum that needs to be cut out which leaves no material to just glue it back together.
