Default Thickening Epoxy for even more versatility!!

Anyone try G-Flex epoxy with the addition of some type of filler like colloidal silica, microballoons, and microfibers for hard body work.
Seems like a nice solution to those dreaded cracks that form in body filler when the plastic flexes. Let me know your thoughts.

Standard way to repair fliberglass and plastics.

Do you have a specific question? I can tell you that epoxy with microballons still cracks when flexed. you might want to try polyester UV surf board resin. It can come in a paste that its fiber enforced, it is sand able, paintable, easy to work with and provides good structure to prevent flex cracks.

Read upon various sun cure products.

I was wondering if anyone tried this specific epoxy as it's made to flex. Used for plastic kayak repair and suppose to be the best plastic epoxy out there. I know most epoxy are not great at adhering to plastic, but this one seems different. I'll look into that surf board resin.

Can you paint over these types of resins easily?

It bonds by heat. To get a proper bond you torch the plastic prior to application, then the heat from the reaction finishes the job.

Assuming you are talking lexan or abs bodies, neither will be thick enough to withstand the bonding prep or process.

If you want flexable epoxy look at fishing rod building epoxies, they are made to flex and not crack. However they are very silicon sensitive, meaning it has to be really clean or it fish eyes.
