if somebody at traxxas has been reading my build thread... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those old school Bruiser style wheels are sweet. Looks like a nice body. Just shows what can be done with lexan.

Patience and a heat gun are essential when applying Tamiya decals. A little heat makes them lay down beautifully. I like the little Citroen myself.

The way Tamiya implements decals is astonishing if done by the modeler correctly. I’ve never achieved satisfying results, & certainly nothing that lasts more than a week. The marker lights on their VW Beetle body, & the headlights on the Mini Cooper are examples where the decals are more trouble than the body is worth.

HOLY SHIZNIT !!!!!!!! Those polished/chrome wheels are dead sexy. Exactly what I had on my '92 F150. I hope they are available separately. I don't care on the size.

I wonder if they are still releasing a TRX-4 kit.

I owned a 80 Bronco, and that's making my mouth water!!!

The Tamiyas are always cool...... but THIS one REALLY got me bouncing around the room!!

I'll find a way to get that somehow.......

I like the replica Ford alloys as well. Being that it's Traxxas, they should appear at my LHS and I can see if they look good in person.

I've never tried a heat gun. I'd be worried I'd melt my body with the thing I have.

What type of heat gun do you use for decal application?

I like the Citroen too. It's cool because it's so different and unexpected. Only Tamiya would make that body.

I use a Wagner HT1000 heat gun at work to remove labels from plastic containers on a regular basis. The key is to use the "Low" setting. That will get the glue a little more viscous without harming the plastic. Now, I've never tried it on lexan, so take this with a grain of salt. Like anything else, experiment on scrap before trying it on the real thing.

looks like we WILL, in fact, be able to purchase the body separately! big squid reported on this and their guy at Nuremberg Toy Fair says:
"Traxxas will release a short link set so you can use the Bronco body on your existing TRX-4"

I use the old lady's hair dryer. Works like a charm. Makes the decals pliable for getting around curves, and "sets" the glue. No worries of melting anything.

I use a Wagner HT400. If you've never used one before get some old decals and an old body and go to town. Like mentioned above it only takes a light warming to make a decal conform to just about anything you want. The best part is it heats the adhesive as well so the decals stay stuck. The HT400 is about $30 but Wagner also makes a smaller gun called the Studio and it only costs $20. You should get one. I couldn't imagine applying decals without one now.

... screw the Bronco - I want that Trophy Truck too! LOL ... running out of space!
And 800$? Including electronics, diamond axle, wheels and body work, I bet I have way more in my Yeti converted SC8e trophy truck. I just wish, they would release kits, since I enjoy the building process a lot more. But who knows, what's out there by then - nobody expected Traxxas to come out with a Defender, then a Bronco and suddenly a scale trophy truck??? What's next!?

Dude, I'm at work. Just Google RPP Hobbies, click on " New Items" and it's on the page... And as is Traxxas's tradition, it's RTR.....
