I would like to see one painted OD Green and have the Military Insignia on it or one converted to a Mash Unit Ambulance That's how I remember the Power Wagons, growing up are neighbor had a Ambulance and would let me steering it as him and his friend would walk behind it, throwing cut firewood into it I never touched the gas, cause he threw it into Granny Low and it would chug along all by its self and you could walk fast enough to easliy climb in and stop it rolling cause some time all 3 of chucked firewood And have always loved Military Dodges ever since, as a young kid barely seeing over the wheel and not being able to reach pedals with out sliding off the seat and not able beaning to see if you did Was all part of the fun plus he paid well also and while always remember collecting firewood Last edited by kgb424; 11-30-2017 at 08:37 PM. |

My dad's last vehicle was a Samurai (down in St. Thomas, V.I.), so I now need to prepare for adding a Barrage to the stable early next year.... Tribute time - just as you are doing for your dad!

Cut down a SCX10 chassis and mount up some RC4WD K44s with a forward mounted motor and t-case. Or buy a MST CFX, all are good options. I'll probably be stupid and pick the options that requires the most work.

I have a recently-purchased Ascender K10 that I just got my first upgrades for and a gigantic pile of parts on my coffee table for the as-yet-unbuilt Bomber I bought in June (2016!) already. A Barrage kit (which they recently released) would be nice and cheap ($180)... it includes everything an RTR comes with, it just isn't assembled or painted. However, a MST CFX would allow me to use standard electronics (540 can, not a silly 390 can - and regular-sized LiPos!) and they aren't exactly expensive (Dang - same price, $180 on eBay!). I'll admit to having no interest in dealing with cutting down a chassis, changing driveshaft and link lengths, etc. I live by myself in a tiny apartment with minimal tools and currently am mostly a bolt-on upgrade kinda guy... Sounds like a plan... build up a 1.55" CFX, 1.9" Ascender, 2.2" Bomber.

Just preordered the Power Wagon body from RPP. I showed it to my wife last night. She said she already finished my shopping. Merry Christmas to me!

and the barrage is the way to go. the new kit is vastly improved over the RTR and this samurai will fit like a glove. the CFX would require too much custom fab. my son has a v1 barrage and its super capable. DO IT!!! i told my son about the samurai body and he was like "eh... i still want a jeep." truck is his, so that's what he will get. another cool idea for the power wagon... the proline utility bed! throw some axial light buckets on the back for brake lights... super cool. Durok, go for the barrage samurai. i (we!) would love to see that build thread! oh, can we call it "the samurrage"?

The MST is vastly superior to a barrage (I have 3 MST and a doomsday) and wheelbase is easy to change. The MST comes with parts for 242 and 252mm wb and all mine came with the “optional” 267mm WB kit. I made one MST 230mm and my other 278mm all with kit parts and a cable cutter. I gotta admit the 380/390 motor sizes and "baby" Li-Po pack were what kept the Barrage out of serious consideration previously... Before the K10 Ascender came out I was considering the CFX-W but upon revisiting the CFX, getting one with the Unimog body would be very cool, as I love those as well. I'd probably mostly shelf-queen the Samurai body, and drive it with the Unimog... Thanks, guys! And yes, I'd really like to also get the Power Wagon for the Ascender - if it fits cab-only, I'd get a wheel/tire setup along these lines for it: Last edited by durok; 12-01-2017 at 11:32 AM. |

Those lexan lights for the PW, well that's just not me. But i do have the ALU lights that are used on the old Gmade buggy, but they have the LED poking out of the rear of them and that would look bad. So now i am thinking going another way and maybe add a little 3-4 LED light bar on each of the front fenders instead, cuz i will not go for a period correct look anyway. And i think a 5 inch light bar will fit on the roof, so forward lighting should be good, if not i can probably fit in a couple of light buckets in front of the radiator. Also i am worried the front fenders might be prone to cracking / falling off as they are after all exposed in rollovers which i do a lot as i am pushing it all the time. Never the less the PW are going on my 10.2 for sure, the rest i should have the skill and brainpower to solve or circumvent. |

There is an incredible flatbed of that era I see in my neighbourhood that I occasionally see. The thing is bloody sexy, draws in the eyes like big cans on a slim broad.
