| Scale rock damage?
What's the best way to accomplish this? I've seen people heat up the body and use a spoon to make dents so I'm assuming the same concept would work. If I heat the body and press it against a rock or two, would that do the trick? Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk |

I'd bet it would, heating the body is the only way I've seen this done

Apply heat from the inside and when you see plastic turn glossy stop heating and immediatly press against some surface. Keep the damage realistic: Body panels are more rigid from the sides and open the gaps between the panels and doors etc with dremel. Here's some photos of my damaged builds. |

I assume you're using a hard body. You can do it to a lexan body too, but you can ruin the lexan body faster than a hard body, as it will have a lower melting point.

There is also another method to try. In this method you dremel out the middle/center part of panels, leaving only the frames. Then you cut thin metal or foil pieces over the panels and glue them in to cover the holes. Then just paint and drive recklessly to get some damage! Very realistic as the metal bends and the plastic frames work as understructure. I've seen build somewhere with this method and if I find it I'll post it here! |
