Default What kind of velcro?

I've tried several different kinds. None seem to be cutting the mustard to holding bodies on. I expect the body to pop off on a good hard roll, but I'm talking a flop and they come off. What do you all use? (links or pics helpful) and go...

I used the industrial or heavy duty Velcro on my B5 body when I raced.

I use industrial strength stuff. About a 1"by 2" rectangle on the chassis side and a 2" by 2" square o the body side.

I did find you have to let the velcro set up... Meaning apply it to the surface, then wait a couple hours before attempting to use it as intended. And temperature has a lot to do with it. Velcro does not like to be applied when it is cold.

3M Dual Lock is the best Velcro I’ve ever used. Find it on amazon or ebay

This is what you're looking for. Comes in clear and black and its the same pattern on both sides. Not like your standard velcro with one soft side and one prickly side.

yup we use that in the navy to hold our monitors and junior sailors to things so they don't slide around in high seas.

whenever i use that stuff, when I'm done i look at my work and quote the boondock saints.

That velcro is awesome. I did have problems with the glue side holding. I didnt realize if you wait a bit it holds better. I superglued it to my body and it works awsome. Definately need the industrial grade hook and loop.

3M Dual Lock is really good. Anything you can get in a large sheet could work. Try using more surface area to get a better connection. If you get a large sheet you can cut larger patches and even add small patches in new places.

Yup, we use that stuff in the Air Force too...... to keep Flyboys from either leaving shit on the Jet, or forgetting to take stuff with them, ON the Jet!!!!

Actually, the upper Stratosphere Pilots (like Dad), had to wear Spacesuits, similar to Gemini Astronauts wore. The Gloves were so thick and stiff, that Velcroing vital items to their Suit Legs, made it far easier to grab stuff at altitude!

Yeah........ It's strong enough for our 1/10th Scale Rigs!
