Default Best paint pens for fine details?

Looking for something for fine details for mostly hard plastic bodies and maybe lexan if it will work for that. Do I need oil based to be water proof? What brands and sizes have worked best and don’t chip or wash off? Thanks.

Testor's paint pens are enamel base, fine for hardbodies, i.e. styrene. Don't know of any for lexan. Paint for lexan bodies must be for polycarbonate paint, so acrylic. Acrylic paints flex when dry, enamels or lacquers don't, they'll flake if the plastic bends. Oil based paints will flake on lexan unless a polycarbonate or acrylic paint is applied first.

Looks like I learned something too!!
What I was going to suggest (and try on mine), is getting a small bottle of flat clear Polycarbonate Paint...... Flat, so you can more easily see when it's dry - WON'T make much difference on the outside of Lexan.

Then, get nearly ANY Paint Pen, and do all the details that were backed with Clear. You see, the Poly Paint etches and bonds INTO the Lexan. From there, you've got a safe barrier layer, for most types of Paint to adhere to!
