Appreciate all the painting tips because my experience and skills are low on this subject.

Maybe at some point we'll get to chassis and body mounting. I was originally going to repurpose my Axial SCX 10.2 because it's the correct wheelbase and that's what I have. But I'm going in different directions with those vehicles - the Jeep becoming an off-roader and the Power Wagon being a scale model. So thinking more along the lines of a Trail Finder chassis, mostly because of the leaf spring suspension, though the wheelbase may need some fixin'.

For body mounting, I couldn't bare to poke holes in the classic Dodge body, so looking towards magnets, especially given my general aversion to Velcro.

Good luck with your painting and please update us with your progress.
There's another really nice blue out there for a "Vintage" body - I'm about to paint my '72 Chevy K10 Ascender cab in it - Tamiya PS49 Sky Blue Anodized Aluminum - loads of cars from the past were painted in this color... here's a link where I mentioned it and included a pic of a old Corvette using that particular shade:

Ummm...

That's one of my favorite tricks! When Budget allows - after taping, I do a light coat of Clear Paint.. That ensures if there's ANY bleed, it won't be seen at all. This works for both inside (Lexan) and outside (Hardbody) Paint Jobs!

On Lexan? Yes. Just a light coat, concentrating on the taped areas....
The Body itself acts as a "clear coat". So putting clear Paint under it doesn't do anything.

If you gents like Tamiya tape, do yourselves a favor and get some of this.

I purchased some of this and their purple 30 day tape.

Purple-Sux
Gold-looks and performs just like Tamiya.

You can usually find the 1.5 inch by 60yd rolls for around 8 bucks.

No problem! There's some better ways, but that Kit is by far the easiest. They Mount to your existing Body Posts!
