Default Proline Sumo body

Wondering if anyone has one, would love to see some builds. Considering making a SCX10.2 rig with this body.

Thanks,

Gilles

It's an EXTREMELY short wheelbase body... designed for Tamiya and MST sized chassis... It's right at 10" even. Not sure how you'll cut down an SCX10 to that size?

"For ECX Barrage, FTX Outback and 10" (254mm) Wheelbase Scale Crawlers"

MST CFX & CFW are 252mm, Tamiya CC01 is about 245mm...

SCX10 are usually built at around 313mm or 12.3".

It can be done with a SCX10 chassis, I made one for my cousin's 10 in wheelbase New Bright TJ. It requires sliding the skidplate forward in the frame rails, drilling new holes to mount it, chopping off the back of the chassis, and making some custom shock towers. I also made up some custom servo and panhard mounts for the CMS because any bolt on setup isn't meant for a wheelbase that short. Even after doing all that, the SCXII axles will still be quite wide for the body. Unless you are going for this look:

So, you have to really want a SCX10 Sumo if you are going to build one.

That's actually the look I'm going for, STRC makes a short WB chassis but I'm not really into their designs, might end up having one cut in G10 or carbon fibre.

There is a few builds running that chassis on here, but I think most are running a tamiya bronco body off of a cco1. It's made for the og scx10 I believe.

Almost any stock or aftermarket chassis can be used if you're handy with a drill and a Dremel.
I am building one with a CBE Switchback CF chassis.

That looks great, did you have to change the links any or was it a direct fit?

Lovin' those RC4WD Interco Ground Hawgs on the Sammy!

I picked up a set of the 1.9" versions for an upcoming build...

I also want to build up one of these bodies, as a tribute to my dad - his last vehicle was a silver one with a bikini top, drove it around St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.

Unknown as to what I'll build it on yet...

I started with a stock RGT rock cruiser. Swapped over the barrage kit axles and links. The wheelbase is slightly too long for the body, but it's really close, so I'm happy with it. Just saw rcnerds is currently working on some stuff for this body.

if you look closely at the sidewall of the tire, you can see the size...

Yes 1.9 wheels...

Thanks, this setup fits very well.

I might consider narrow SCX10.2 axles, Beeftube would be ok to create them out of SSD diamond cases.

Found this build on FB, SCX10.2 axles don't look that bad:
