Default Getting paint off titanium

Anyone ever try getting paint off titanium without sanding and messing up the somewhat natural titanium finish?

I guess I'd need to know what kind of paint - then work out what the best solvent is and see if that's likely to damage the titanium.

Honestly I don’t know, I got a truck and someone painted it. The guy I got it from let it sit in the garage and must have had the sun beating on it because the front half is faded. So it’s try n strip it or repaint it

HD has a citrus stripper that is pretty good as paint removal.

You could try polishing it same way you would with a 1:1 car - it's likely it's single stage paint with no lacquer, so you could polish it up then throw a few clearcoats over it.

I have a can of citri-strip that someone recommended for stripping paint from an old 1:8 buggy body that I painted in 1990 (yes, 1990) and it took a while but got it all off and didn't damage the lexan in any way. Might be worth a shot.

Definitely try it on a small out of the way spot first though, just to see.

Put it in a container with brake fluid. Let it sit overnight and then wash the residue off. You will have to use some steal whool after to polish it up. Ive had luck with this process.
