| Ford Lithium Grey and Leadfoot, how to achieve? both of these colors are hitting the mark for me, and Leadfoot was an 2018 raptor color, so thats the route I'd like to take on my upcoming new bright raptor build. My question is I'm not professional painter, not even a novice, more like a butcher of good work but I'm gonna give it a shot. I bought two bodies, one thats gonna be the beater and test dummy and the other that I'll keep nice. How would I go about achieving that result. If you look, they are almost like a flat or matte finish, but covered in what i'd call a gloss clear so it always looks wet... I'm in love with the end result. Is that about the long of the short of how to apply it? flat or matte color and gloss clear over? |

This (admittedly awesome!) color was also used on various Audi cars, and I've always been a fan of it. Audi "Nardo" Grey... listed as one of 15 "Iconic" car colors... it may have a touch more of a sand tint than the Ford color. https://www.autoglym.com/blog/2017/0...c-car-colours/ It reminds me of polished river rock. There is absolutely zero metallic effect in the paint. Let us know your results! Last edited by durok; 06-22-2018 at 08:20 AM. |

That audi color looks like the love child of Fords "avalanche" and "leadfoot", yes amazingly beautiful. I wish I had a clue how to achieve it, I'm hoping someone can give me at least a few hints before I just start throwing paint around.

I don't see an easy answer. I think you're going to have to play with different colors and backing colors. Tamiya has a couple different grays. I'd suggest buying those paints and getting both black and white backing paints and spray test pieces of Lexan.

If you just want basic acrylics Privateers P3 paints has Ironhull Grey and Greatcoat Grey. They both have a bit of a green tint in the grey, similar to those pictures. Or just go to an auto paintshop with the paint name and they’ll mix you any amount of it, pretty much in any type of spray can or bottle you like.

| Re: Ford Lithium Grey and Leadfoot, how to achieve? lexan testing and backing colors aren't gonna come into play, its going on a new bright raptor body so unfortunately testing theories is going to prove somewhat difficult, being the sales manager of a Ford store does have its advantages though, I just talked to my top body man and hes gonna hook me up

You should have started there if you work at a Ford dealership! Can you hook me up with a good price on a 2019 GT350? | |

| Re: Ford Lithium Grey and Leadfoot, how to achieve? This should work well to replicate Destroyer Grey, Nardo Grey, and what ever those boring colors are, just lay some gloss clear over it. |

If the paint from the body shop doesn't work out i also like Tamiya paints. Always had pretty good luck with them. Just make sure you get the right one for plastics. I made the mistake or grabbing one for lexan and it ate the plastic. Never start a painting project late at night and tired. I take it you got a couple of raptor bodies? I would also like to put in a request for a 2018 raptor. |

The lower Ford truck looks pretty close to a Battleship Grey, but good to hear you found someone to help you out |
