Rmoving sandng dust

I have a quick question regarding sanding primer and paint coats on hard bodies. What should I use to remove the sanding dust before painting another layer? Wet/dry cloth? Tack cloths?

I'd start with a tack cloth then get the cleaner specifically for this kind of job and wipe it down with that. Duplicolor now offers them in a one time use packet like a wet wipe.

Personally, I'd wash it, and either use an air gun to blow dry it or give it 24 hrs to dry before painting. Unless you're meticulous, getting a tack rag into all the cracks and crevices of a plastic body, is almost impossible.

Like Mike Flea said. Wash it. Thoroughly dry it, or let it air dry for a day. I use SimpleGreen because I like the de-greasing properties of it. But, Dawn dish soap or similar would also work well. Additionally, I usually do a quick "prep wipe" using a clean, soft, lint-free wipe with some isopropyl alcohol. It pretty much flash dries, so it's great to use just prior to shooting paint, and it helps ensure you've gotten all the oil, dirt and grease residue.

Also, don't forget to wear latex gloves when handling it prior to and during painting. Keeps the oils from your hands contaminating things, and it keeps the over-spray off your hands, so it's TWOFER!

Blow off with air, Tack cloth, followed by a complete washing then dry with micro fiber towel.
