Body work question

I want to remove the spare tire mount and would like to know is there a way to make blend in with the dull finish without any paint work.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...19920fe443.jpg

Without paint work I don't know of a way BUT on 1:1 Jeeps they make a delete kit for the spare tire mount that is basically a cover panel. Could make one with a 3D printer pretty easily if you have access to one.

Here is a sample of one so you can get the idea:

Re: Body work question

^That would be a good idea, but if that piece for the spare is molded in to the rest of the body, trying to get a flush cut without damaging surrounding plastic may be difficult. The other option would be to make a jerry can(s) to cover the mount.

no printer..... Ok - what about drill it out/off. Put tape over it on the painted side, fill with small amount of body filler from inside - as to not screw up your paint. Remove tape and add some kind of "sticker" over the filler?

another thought - check the auto parts stores for body fasteners (little black plugs/clips/etc). Maybe able to find something that you could use as a cover (they fit in a hole to hold body panels on, fasten carpet down, dashboard parts, etc on 1:1 vehicles). Mostly black plastic.

Maybe able to get someone on the site to print one fairly cheap if you design it - should be small and use very little materials/postage.

Good luck

You beat my response..... LOL

I also liked Mike Flea's idea but diamond plate would also work nicely. On Dk green black diamond plate may blend in a bit better (See it all the time on 1:1 Jeeps)
