Help with backing paint I painted a body this weekend with createx airbrush paint. The main color is a dark brown with a tan stripe. I like the tan color but want to back it to block light. Help me RCC you’re my only hope. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...645db11fd8.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Help with backing paint White silver or black depending on how you want it to end up. Take a scrap and see what you like. I like silver then black over it so you cant see it. Not sure if this is what you are asking. |
Re: Help with backing paint Unless that paint brand has a line designed to adhere to lexan bodies, no matter what backing paint you use, it's going to all flake off the first time you use the truck. |

Createx paint is some of the best paints you can use in your airbursh for lexan. Your going to be fine. It is also an acrylic, so treat it exactly the same as you would the PS line. They are completely compatible, go with what you know and the results should be very similar. |
Re: Help with backing paint Man, those colors are exactly what I've been looking for, for a '78 K10... I just wish I could find them (or, close enough) in rattle cans! As for backing, I would do a couple coats of silver. Think of it like mixing the paints, white will keep it bright/make it lighter, black will make it darker, and silver will be somewhere in between (leaning towards the lighter side.) After a few backing coats, you can lay down any color you want, and it won't make any appreciable difference to the visible color. |
Re: Help with backing paint My parents had a brown and tan 86 K5 so when I picked this up I had to duplicate the paint colors. That’s what led me to createx. I mix black and red to get the brown. White and yellow for the tan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
