Lol. That’s on Scaler-Fab. I don’t know why they set them so wide.
I’ll check my old Blazer body - that may be what they based their template on.

Yup - perfect width for the big ol’ original Ascender Blazer body.

Seems all the newer crawler bodies are narrower than the original Ascender. Which is good - they get through obstacles easier, performance is better.

Scaler-Fab does offer custom dimensions if you want to pay for them. I never thought to put a tape measure to anything - it said 'Vaterra Ascender' and I thought "That's me."

Browneye - I'm seeing all sorts of upside here. You can now tell the wife that you need to get the 1:1 looking like the scaler since she likes it better!

I like the color - and the hood graphics and contrast scoop. I didn't bother with that on mine since it was black, but it really sets off the front of the rig.

I'm saving mine for Proline By The Fire event in May. If I start running it now it will be scratched to rat$hit by then. LOL

Ya...it's a cost vs. return kind of thing on the full size. And I'm not really an offroader any more with it, so it's kind of moot. It did just come off lease and we decided to keep it - it's a great truck. It tows our boat, and tows behind the RV - very versatile. And quiet like a silverado with a great ride. It's a 4x4 with the 2.5L four cylinder. I have a Trifecta tune and it really gets up and moves without a turbo charger. We got it January of 2015, has 31K miles, so it's still just like new.

DPCARDOZA, that trucks looks amazing! I've been on the fence about whether I want to get one of these bodies, but now that I've seen how it looks with that color and class 1 sized tires I think I'm going to need to seriously consider going this direction.

I came seriously close a year ago into getting a Colorado with the Trail Boss package, but the dealership was just too firm on the price. I had hoped they were going to budge since it was the same blue color as what's available on the TRX4 Sport so I was thinking they were having a hard time moving it. Had to walk away.

I forgot to ask about whether you had to do something special to get the body to sit like this? Are you using the stock body mounts? Did you have to cut the bed? Many pictures I see of this body are sitting with a tilt.

I had to cut the front and rear bumper section off the body to get it to sit that low. I used team knk body mounts. Beyond that really nothing special. Bumpers are from the scx10.2 wrangler 4dr. The rear looks good. The front is meh. Thinking about picking up a vanquish ripper bumper instead.

I also am doing the SCX-10 II wrangler and I am putting the front bumper behind the grill so I don't have to cut off the front of the Pro-Line bumper.
looking good so far.
