| Correct order to apply colours.
I have ordered a Vanquish VS4 and intend to paint the lexan shell in Audi Nardo Grey with a couple of subtle neon metallic stripes (leaning towards Lime Green or Orange). Should I paint the Nardo Grey first and the stripes second or should I paint the stripes first and then spray over the whole shell, including the stripes, in Nardo Grey ? |

I would mask where you want the stripes and then spray the Nardo Grey. Once the Grey has fully cured, back that with a black, silver or white depending on how you want the Grey to look. (doing it in this order will prevent your stripe color from tinting behind the Grey.) Silver and White backing will make it "pop" a bit more, Black will tend to make it look "deeper". Once all that has cured, carefully peel your masks for the stripes and shoot the stripe color. Once the stripes have cured spray backing color again over them.

Are you applying actual automotive paint directly to lexan? it's recommended to hit it with Tamiya clear lexan/polycarbonate paint first, as automotive paint will not adhere properly. I love Audi Nardo grey, it's a lovely color. |

Spraying the inside, PS-55 goes first, then the color for your stripe (green) PS-28 needs to be backed with white or silver to pop. PS8 can be used for a green as well, I would still back that with white or a bright silver. The only rattle can grey I found close to nardo is Tamiya AS-16 Before adding the grey, I would mask off the stripe. The grey is a light color and so is the green or orange you go with. You do not want these colors to overlap at all. They will affect eachother either way you spray them if one is not masked over. Remember, this is polycarbonate you are spraying onto. If there are a lot of coats, after a year or so, the paint can flake off. If it was a darker grey, the grey would get sprayed down first and there would be no issues with the green or orange overlapping it. |

Thanks for the advice, i know how to do it now. I'll be using a polycarbonate paint from an Austrian company. The colour is called Nardo Grey. Ive seen it live and it really is a very good match to the original Audi colour. https://www.mkracing.eu/h-speed-lexa...ml?language=de |
