Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Didn't they use to make a ramcharge with a top on it? |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Macho! (its the trim level/ sticker package) |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 They've been teasing this for a while - thank goodness they are showing a different color now than that hideous beige one: https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/vp...ninstagram.com |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Yeah that was not the most flattering color. Its an ok body but the price?? Reminds me of the metric tacoma all over again... |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 The best comment I saw on Facebook about the price was something like "Are these sold in pairs?" $70 for a featureless (meaning no hard plastic grille, etc) Lexan body is ****ing insane. The molding isn't even that great and the details are faint. Proline used to be better than this. I guess Dodge boys are clamoring for anything so they'll accept this less than stellar quality and overpriced body. For the rest of us, I think we're just shaking our head. |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Understanding the extra manufacturing required for a multi-piece body sheds some light on the price. $70 really isn't that bad. |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 correct me if im wrong, but i dont recall any ramchargers with removable tops. |

"The 1974 through 1980 models came without a roof, with a dealer-installed fabric top, or an optional removable steel roof with a flip up rear tailgate window." |

thanks, tbh sometimes i forget we have google :ror: |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Yep svt is correct, I have a '77 with the removable steel hard top!! That's why I like this even though it's not perfect and cost is a little higher, to have a matching rig to my 1:1 I think will be too cool!!! |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Of course this comes out right after i bought the new K10 i should have waited. Until its not the price of a hardbody. Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk |

Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Reminds me why I’m not a Dodge fan. |

I hadn't realized this was a two-piece body. That's not appealing to me at all, but I guess there are some people that want it. It would be a stronger and more solid body as one piece. It certainly doesn't justify the price for me, but I'm not an old Dodge truck fan. It is awesome Proline is offering STL files to print at home instead of forcing you to buy them from Shapeways. I guess they learned with the generic "Metric" body. |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 From the photos on this thread it looks like they did well on the body width. One wont have to narrow axles in order to make the wheel offset look relatively stock. Once someone produce a quality grill and light buckets it could look pretty cool |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 What holds the top on? Presumably you'll have to remove it to get to the body pins? |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 From what I’ve seen the top has tabs that fit in slots on the body. Not sure how they stay tho. |
Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4 Quote:
i guess yeah this is technically THREE pieces (body, interior, roof) so i guess $70 is what they need to recoup tooling and materials. iunno… i want to like it but... injection molded grill would justify, but also probably bumpit up another $20. |
