Question about adding rust.

That is what I use, works great. A tip ill give you is that less is more...people tend to go completely over board or rusting parts of the vehicle that wouldn't normally rust (like the rear wheel wells of the hilux body).

So I depending on application there is a few ways to do it. I generally use the cheap testors model brushes and paint on the paint in the area that are you want rusted. I then let it dry and use another brush to apply the rusting agent. I generally try to put that on pretty heavy so it kinda bubbles up on the area and sits on it. You can then use a blow dryer on low speed to warm it up and speed up the rusting effect.


If the item is small, you can do the same as above but then place the item in a zip lock with a paper towel with the solution on it wrapping the part and then seal the bag and leave it over night or for a few hours and it'll really rust up nicely.

Take a look at this one too... I used to sell this stuff and it works great. It comes with a primer, but you wouldn't need to use it.

Looks to be significantly cheaper too. Not sure about CA though.
