TRX4 Build Kit 12.3??

New to hobbie (1 Year in) I have modified a few trucks, painted a few bodies. Was wanting to build my own. Found out I could get the TRX-4 (my first traxxas) for $369 with all needed except for body.
The RTR states is 12.8 wheelbase but the kit says its 12.3. Will a typical 12.3 body fit? was looking at proline toyota hilux

The sport kit is $279, 12.3 WB, comes with the sport body and scale accessories. You have to add radio gear and motor.
The sport does not have locking diffs or 2spd transmission.
Any 12.3WB body can be made to fit.

I got the links for the 12.8 WB and put the Proline FJ40 LandCruiser body on mine. It's a very capable crawler - highly recommend it.

Or you can get the full-blown TRX4 kit and choose body, build whichever WB you want, comes with links for 312mmWB, comes with everything - about $400.

Virtually any 12.3" wheel base body can be made to fit the TRX4. You will likely need to do some minor trimming but that will happen with any body. There are also a number of 12.8" wb bodies now being sold aftermarket.

Browneye - I did order the full TRX4 kit - but the specs on the site say its 12.3 inch. Is that a typo ya think?

Edit.. I just reread your post - so the WB is adjustable? Perfect.

I did see all the 12.8 - but they all kinda look the same and I have a gen7 pro and thats the 4 door suv type and wanted something diff. Ill keep checkin round.

There are several TRX-4 models. Some have 12.3" wb, and others 12.8" wb. The kit (82016-4) has the 12.3" wb, and is most common with respect to bodies. You can buy the parts to convert to 12.8" wb if you wish.

$20 for a link set to go longer or shorter, whichever you choose.
Trx4 is a very nice platform - I have all of them - axial, element, TRX, and vaterra. They are more the same than different, all are capable, mod-able, and fun.

You’ll likely need to trim the inner fenders down a bit but most 12.3 bodies will fit. Hilux included. It is a bit of a challenge to get the Hilux bed sitting low because of the rear shock towers.

4Runner is a good fit too.
